Community Development Service (CDS), as one of the cardinal points of the NYSC scheme is very important in our national life because it has allowed several like-minded youths to contribute immensely to our country in the area of community development.
What is charity?
According to the Oxford English dictionary, charity is a system of giving money, food or help to those who are in need or an organization that has the purpose of providing money and assistance to the less privileged.
Why do people give to charity?
Charity means to give and then receive. This world is like an echo, there will be echos of whatever you do and it will return to you with interest.
In this life you reap the benefits of whatever you give towards a good cause. So give to charity, it will create an echo which will return to you amplified.
Who do we give charity to?
The impoverished, particularly those widowed or orphaned and the ailing or injured, are generally regarded as the proper recipients of charity.
The Importance/benefits of charity
It benefits yourself as much as it benefits those whom you give.
It helps make our communities a better place, as it raise the standards of living.
It also motivates others to give, as it creates a viral effect and motivates countless others to follow your examples.
To ensure we effectively serve our father land, the Charity service and Gender CDS Kabba has a responsibility; as a group to reach out to as many less privileged people as possible and organize seminars to enlighten the public on the need to embrace Charity & Gender empowerment as a tool for national building.
Conclusively, any gift to a Charity is better than no gift. we should start at a comfortable level and increase if, or more likely when, you feel able and willing to do more.
Look at what your generosity does for others, and also observe the good it does for you.
